Black gram is very good for bone health. It is traditionally given for girls during puberty periods . It is also good during pregnancy, after delivery. Let us see a very easy and method of making Kali and Kangji.
This method of making kalli, tastes like a halwa., and kangji tastes like a payasam.
To make powder
Black gram dhal with skin ( karuppu Ulundu) – 200 gm
Rice – 4 tsp
Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
Dry roast all for 5 minutes as shown in video, until they get roasted. Powder in a dry mixi jar. Store in a dry container.
You can keep it outside for 3,4 months and use whenever you want.
Ulundu powder – 1 small cup
Jaggery or palm sugar – 3/4 or 1 cup
Gingerly oil – 3/4 cup
Dry ginger powder, cardamon powder, coconut
Mix the powder with little water, without lumps. Keep it for 20 minutes.
Heat 3 cups of water. Add the mixture, mix well. Cook in medium flame for 5 minutes. The color will change and becomes thick. Add jaggery and cook for few minutes.
Add little dry ginger powder, cardamon powder, add gingerly oil, cook for few minutes and switch off. Add fresh coconut and serve.
Ulundu powder – 1 tsp
Brown sugar or jaggery – 3 tsp
Dry ginger powder, cardamon powder, milk, coconut.
Mix a tsp of powder with little water, without any lumps. Boil a glass of water, add this mixture and mix.
Cook for 5,6 minutes in medium flame. Add sugar,. Add dry ginger powder, cardamon powder. Switch off. Add 1/2 cup boiled milk or coconut milk. Add little coconut.
