Now jack fruits are available. We usually eat the fruit and throw out the seeds. The seeds can be cooked and eaten as a snacks. Let us see how to do a pulli kulambu using this seeds.
Jack friut seeds – 15
Small onion – 15
Garlic clove – 8
Tomato – 1
Tamarind – lemon size
Turmeric powder – 1/4
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Kulambu podi or sambar Podi – 2 tsp
Coconut – 4 tbs
Jeera, mustard seeds, Ulund dhal, Channa dhal, hing, salt, jaggery, gingerly oil, curry and Coriander leaves.
Dry roast the seeds for 3,4 minutes, so you can peel the skin easily. Peel the skin cook in cooker along little water and salt for 2 whistles. Stain the water and keep aside.
In oil fry mustard seeds, dhals, hing, curry leaves, garlic, onion. Add tomato and mix. Crush the seeds as shown in the video.
Add the seeds, add all Podi mix add tamarind pulp, salt and cook for 5 minutes.
Grind coconut along jeera, curry, Coriander leaves and add the paste to kulambu, adjust consistency by adding water. Add little jaggery, cook for 3 minutes.
Add Coriander leaves, switch off add a tbs of gingerly oil over it. It is ready now. It will be very nice along with rice.
