This is a Vlog of my quick lunch preparation. When I have to go out and cook lunch after I am back or I have some other cleaning works I usually do this lunch, which will be ready in very short time.
Dhal Rice ( In Tamil known as Parrpu Arisi Satham) will be yummy eating along with lemon pickle and appalam, with hot ghee over it.
Rice – 1 cup (250 gm)
Thour dhal – 1/2 cup (100 gm)
Small Onions – 10
Garlic cloves – 8
Red chilli – 4
Tomato – 1
Sambar podi – 1/2 tsp
Rasam powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder, salt, oil, hing, curry leaves, mustard seeds, jeera.
Soak rice. Cook dhal along 1,1/2 cups of water, turmeric powder for 2 whistles.
In 4 tsp of oil fry mustard seeds, jeera, hing, add Onions, garlic, red chilli and fry for 2 minutes. Add tomato, mix, add sambar, rasam podi mix. Switch off.
Add 3 glass of water in the cooked dhal, let it boil, add fried items, rice, salt to it, mix, close and cook for 3 whistles.
Open, Mash slightly, serve hot along with ghee over it.. Serve along lemon pickle and appalam.
