Yam Kola balls and vadai
This is a Veg Kola Urundai, tastes like a mutton, fish Kola Urundai..
Very simple recipe.. Perfect snacks for a rainy day..
Ingredients
Yam – 300 gm
Roasted gram – 5 tbs
Rusk powder – 4 tbs
Green chilly, red chilli – 2 each
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Tamarind – 2’inch
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Cinnamon – 2
Cloves – 4
Onion – 1
Salt, oil, curry and coriander leaves.
Steps
Peel the skin of Yam, cut into pieces. In 1 liter of boiling water add Tamarind piece, Yam, turmeric powder and cook for 3,4 minutes. Just half cooking is enough.
Stain water and keep aside. Powder the roasted gram in a dry mixie, keep aside.
Add all masalas, cooked Yam and grind to a course paste, just add 2 tbs water.
Add 3 tbs roasted gram powder, 3 tbs rusk powder, salt, chopped onions, curry, and coriander leaves.
Mix well, if it not bind, you can add little bit more gram powder and rusk powder.
Make it as balls and vadai as shown. Deep fry in oil until it is crispy.
