Bannana Flower in Tamil known as Vallai poo.. Doing a kulambu using Vallai poo, it looks like fish kulambu. So it is a Vegetarian fish gravy..
Vallai poo – 1 cup ( take only tender poo.. As shown in the video.. Don’t cut, put it in water.)
Small Onions – 10
Garlic cloves – 8
Tomato – 1
Tamarind – amla size ( soak and take out the pulp)
Kulambu podi – 2 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Coconut – 4 tbs
Jaggery – 1 tsp
Oil, salt, hing, mustard seeds, ulund dhal, Methi seeds, jeera, curry and coriander leaves.
In 2 glass of water, add Vallaipoo, turmeric powder and boil it for 2,3 minutes. Stain the water.
In oil fry mustard seeds, Ulundu dhal, Methi seeds, hing, curry leaves. Add Onions, garlic and fry for 2 minutes. Add tomato and fry for 2 minutes.
Add kulambu podi, coriander powder, Vallai poo,mix add Tamarind pulp, salt and cook for 3 minutes.
Grind Coconut along jeera, curry, coriander leaves. Add it to kulambu, boil it for 2 minutes. Add jaggery, coriander leaves, switch off.
Yummy vegetarian fish gravy.. Vallaipoo kulambu is ready,.. Enjoy with hot rice.
