Suiyam is a simple, traditional sweet recipe., it is healthy too.We call it as Parrupu Urundai Paniyaram. This is suitable for karthikai deepam Prasatham.
Ingredients
Green Gram – 1/2 cup (100 gm)
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Coconut – 4 tbs
Cardamom, dry ginger powders, ghee.
For Outer layer
Rice flour – 6 tsp
Wheat flour – 2 tsp
Pinch of salt
Oil to deep fry.
Steps
Dry roast Dhal for 5 minutes, until it becomes golden. Wash it, cook in cooker with little water for 4,5 whistles.
Open and boil it, until it becomes dry, without any water. Grind along with jaggery in mixi, without adding water.
Roast coconut in little ghee, add it, add cardamom, dry ginger powders, 1/2 tsp ghee, mix well. Make lemon size balls.
Mix rice flour, wheat flour, salt along little water, make as dosa batter consistency.
Heat oil, dip the balls in batter, deep fry in oil, as shown. You can get 15 Pieces for this measurements. You can keep it for just one day.
