Pepper Vadai In Tamil known as Millagu Vadai. It is commonly given as a Prasatham in Anjaeyer and Perumal temples.
Making a garland using this vadai is offered to Anjeneyer and then given as a Prasatham.
It is very tasty, it can be stored for 3,4 days,.. It can be eaten as a snack or as s side dish for curd rice, Tamarind rice..
This quantity, you can get 11 to 15 vadais.
Ingredients
Ulundu dhal – 1/2 cup (100 gm)
Rice flour – 2 tsp
Pepper – 1 tsp
Jeera – 1 tsp
Salt, oil.
Steps
Wash and soak dhal for 2 hours. In a dry mixie jar add pepper, jeera and grind course. Take out, add dhal without water.
Grind course, without adding any water, take out., mix with pepper, jeera, salt, rice flour.
Apply oil in a plastic sheet, and hand. Take amla size dough, place in sheet, fold the sheet. Press using a flat bottom cup, as shown in the video.
Make a hole in centre, take it carefully as shown, drop in hot oil and deep fry in medium flame.
Now crispy Millagu Vadai is ready.
You can insert a thread into the holes and make a vadai garlend for Lord Anjeneyer. Do with odd numbers of vadai for garlend,.. 11,51,101.. Like that.
