Badam Halwa is a rich healthy sweet. It is costly when you buy in sweet stall. More over we can’t expect in sweet stall, it is completely made using badam. Due to cut cost, they may mix milk powder, badam essence. But in home we can do using only badam. If you do using 200 gm badam ( around 150 to 200 Rs) you can get 500 gm halwa.
Ingredients
Badam – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 cup to 1 and 1/4 cup
Boiled Milk – 1 cup
Saffron – 2 pinch
Ghee – 6 tbs
Steps
Soak badam in hot water for 1 hour. Peel off the skin. Wash well. Grind it along milk to a paste. Soak 3 pinch saffron in little hot milk.
In a tsp ghee, add badam paste. Cook for 2 minutes. Add sugar, cook in high medium flame for 7,8 minutes ( you can check for taste and add more sugar if you want) Add saffron milk ( or you can add little yellow food color)
When it comes thick, add ghee a tbs, cook in low flame. Add ghee in gaps. Dip your fingers in water, take little bit from edge, roll it.. If it is non sticky., switch off. Add little ghee, keep aside for 1 hour.
Now it will become non sticky,.. ( if it is not, you can again cook for few minutes)
Now rich Badam Halwa is ready. It will be nice for 3,4 days outside and 2 weeks in fridge.
You can heat it oven and serve hot.
