Beetroot halwa is a colorful healthy sweet. Learn how to make it in a easy way, using pressure cooker.
Beetroot – 1 kg (5 large, peel the skin and grade it, grind it in mixi without adding water. Measure the pulp, – 1 bowl)
Sugar – 1/2 bowl
Boiled milk – 1/4 bowl
( use the same bowl for all measurings)
Ghee – 4 tbs
Badam, pista, cashew, cardamom powder.
In a pressure cooker add a tbs of ghee and fry the beetroot paste for 2 minutes. Add Boiled milk and cook for 2 whistles.
Open and add sugar, mix well, close and cook for 8 minutes. Open and cook for 3 minutes, until you get halwa consistensy.
Add ghee, cardamom powder and chopped nuts.
