We normally make Sundal as a snack or Poriyal. Making this black beans as a Masala Sundal is a good choice to have as a snack or as a Poriyal. It is very good combination with dhal, rasam, curd rice..
Black beans – 200 gm
Onion – 1
Mint, curry, Coriander leaves – few
Coconut – 1 tsp
Oil,salt,mustard seeds, hing.
Coconut – 1 tbs
Ginger – 1/2 inch
Garlic – 4 cloves
Small onions – 2
Green chilly – 2
Mint,Coriander leaves – few
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Grind all together to a fine paste, by adding a little water.
Soak beans for over night and cook it for 4 whistles, by adding 1 cup of water.
Check, whether it is cooked soft. Add salt and keep it open in flame for 3 minutes.
In 3 tsp of oil fry mustard seeds, hing, onions, curry, mint leaves. Add grinded masala, little water and allow it to boil.
Add beans along cooked water, mix well and cook for 3,4 minutes, until it gets dry. Add coconut, Coriander leaves, mix and switch off.
Delicious Black Beans Masala Sundal is ready now. It will be nice for lunch box along with any rice items.
