Carrot cooked along dhal., coconut grinded along jeera and chillies is added.
This is easy recipe, it will nice as a side dish for rice and Chappathi. This is a no onion no garlic recipe.
Kootu is a famous South Indian dish. Any vegetable cooked along with dhal, and added some fresh Coconut grinded along with chillies and jeera.

Thour dhal – 4 tbs
Carrot – 200 gm
Coconut – 2 tbs
Green chilly – 1
Red chilli – 2
Jeera, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, salt, oil, curry and Coriander leaves.
Cook the dhal along turmeric powder. Add chopped carrot to dhal, add little water and salt, cook for 1 whistle.
Grind Coconut along chillies and jeera to a paste. Add the paste to the Kootu and cook for 3,4 minutes.
In a tsp of oil, fry mustard seeds, jeera, hing, split red chilly, curry leaves and add it to the Kootu. Add Coriander leaves, mix and switch off.
It is ready to serve. Try and enjoy. Don’t forget to share this video with your family and friends.
