Peanut Sundal recipe

Peanut Sundal recipe. This can be prepared for pooja in Navarathri days. Also suited for poriyal & tea-time snack.

Ingredients :

Raw peanut- 200g; oil;salt;mustard seeds; curry , coriander leaves; coconut; asafoetida;
To Powder:
Channa Dhal -1 tsp : coriander seeds -1 tsp : red chillies -4 : jeera _1/2 tsp
Dry roast and make it to a fine powder.

Steps :

Soak peanut for 6 hours. Cook for 3 whistles. Add salt & cook in open lid for 2 minutes. In 1 spoon oil, fry mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves. Add peanuts, powder & cook in slow flame for 2 mins. Add coconut, coriander leaves.

Aval Sundal | Rice Flakes Channa

Aval Sundal is a Navaratri special recipe made using aval (Rice Flakes), chick peas

You can make quick recipes using Rice Flakes. No need to cook, just soak and do Uppma, sweets, Gheer, etc.. Aval Sundal Recipe is suitable for breakfast, dinner, Snacks and also for lunch. You can do this as prasadam for Navarathri.

Ingredients:

Thick Rice flakes -1 cup, Channa -1/4 cup, Onion -1/2, green chillies -4, oil, salt, mustard seeds, gram, ulund Dhal, asafoetida, turmeric powder, Lemon juice -1 tsp, curry, coriander leaves.

Steps

Soak Channa for 8 hours and cook for 2 whistles. Wash and soak the Rice flakes for 30 minutes. Add salt for Channa and Soaked Rice flakes. In 3 spoons of oil Fry mustard seeds, dhals, onion, chilly powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, curry leaves. Add Channa and rice flakes without water. Mix well and add coriander leaves. Switch off and add Lemon juice. Aval Sundal is ready.

Ragi Dosai | Red Millet Dosai

Ragi is a healthy , fiber rich millet. A easy recipe for Ragi Dosai .

Ingredients

Ragi flour-200gm: salt: dosa batter -3 tbs( or 3tsp rice flour ): onion:curry,coriander leaves: jeera -1 tsp:oil

Steps

Mix ragi flour, salt, dosa batter,along 1 glass water to a dosa batter consistency. Add jeera .Make dosa, put chopped onion,curry,coriander leaves .Add oil, close and cook in medium flame for 3 minutes. Turn it over and cook for 2 minutes.

Colourful Poori & Chapathi using Palak, Beetroot & Carrot

Kids loves colourful recipes, moms like to give healthy food. Here are colour colour Poori; Chapathi recipes. Suits for lunch box & brightens up ur party menus as well.

Ingredients :

To make colour pulps :
Carrot- 1; beetroot- 1; palak- 1/2 bunch; green chilly-1; jeera.

Grind carrot,half spoon jeera & warm water, as a thick pulp. Grind beetroot,jeera, warm water as a thick pulp. Grind palak,jeera,green chilly as a thick pulp.

To make chappathis :
Wheat flour; pulps; salt; chilly powder; coriander & mint leaves.

In 1/2 cup wheat flour, add 1/4 spoon salt, 1/4 spoon chilly powder, little coriander & mint leaves, beetroot pulp & make it as soft dough.
Repeat the process for other two pulps. Make chappathis as shown.

To make pooris :
Wheat flour;salt;chilly powder; pulps; sooji rava; rice flour; sugar.

In 1/2 cup wheat flour, mix 1 spoon of rice, 1 spoon rice flour, 1/4 spoon chilly powder, 1/4 spoon salt, 1/4 spoon sugar, carrot pulp & make this to a hard dough. In same method , make other colour doughs. Make pooris as shown.

**For palak poori & chappathi dont add chilly powder to the dough**

Oats -Flax Seed – Veg Idly

Ingredients

Oats- 2 cups; rava- 1 cup; flax seed powder- 2 tea spoons; salt; cooking soda; curd-2 table spoons;jeera, grated carrot; curry & coriander leaves.
Instead of sooji rava, wheat rava can also be used.

Steps

Powder the oats & flax seed coarsely. Mix oats, rava, salt,pinch of cooking soda, curd,jeera, water & make it to idly batter consistency. Keep it for 30 mins. It becomes thick, so add some more water, carrots, curry & coriander leaves. Make it as idlys : Cook for 8 mins in idly cooker.
Serve with coconut/coriander/tomato chutneys.

Rava Pongal | ரவா பொங்கல்

Pongal is a south Indian tiffen. This is a easy recipe for Rava Pongal.This goes along with coconut chutney & sambar.

Ingredients:
Sooji rava -3/4 cup. moong dhal- 1/4 cup, pepper- 1 tea spoon, jeera- 1 tea spoon,green chilly -1, ginger-1/2 inch, curry leaves, cashew nut- 4, oil, ghee, salt, assfotida, turmeric powder, milk -1/2 glass.

Dry roast rava, moong dhal separately.wash ,soak moong dhal for 15 minutes. In 3 1/2 cups of boiling water add soaked moong dhal, pintch of turmeric powder, salt. Add roasted rava as shown. mix well, cook for 2 whistel .In 3 spoons of oil fry pepper, jeera cashew,assafotida, ginger, green chilly, curry leaf. Add it to pongal ,add milk .check salt. if u want add and mix well. Add a table spoon of ghee.
Serve along coconut chutney & sambar.

Vegetable Rava Upma

Rava upma is an easy to make tiffen item, this video shows a healthy vegetable rava upma making.

Ingredients :

Sooji rava- 1 glass; onion- 1; green chilly- 4; carrot,beans,green peas- all together 1 cup’ ginger- 1/2 inch; cashew- 3; salt; oil; ghee; mustard seeds; ulund & gram dal; curry, coriander & mint leaves.

Steps

Dry roast rava for 4 mins. In 4 spoons of oil, fry mustard seed,ulund,gram dals,cashews. Add chopped onion,green chillies,ginger. Fry for 2 mins. Add chopped vegies,curry leaves, 3 glasses of hot water,salt. Add rava ,close with a lid & allow for 1 whistle. Open & add ghee,mint ,coriander leaves & mix well.
