Appam is a sweet mainly made as a prasatham for Pooja. We can do different varieties, wheat, rice, Rava Appam. Watch how to make instant Ghee Rava Appam.
Rava – 1 cup (100 Gm)
Wheat flour – 2 tbs
Jaggery – 3/4 cup
Banana – 1
Coconut – 2 tbs ( graded or pieces)
Cardamom powder, ghee.
Soak rava with little water for 20 minutes. Boil jaggery along with 1/2 cup water until it melts. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
Add wheat flour, cardamom powder, coconut, mashed banana to the soaked rava, and mix well.
Filter the melted jaggery water to this and mix well. Check the consistency. It should be like ldly batter. If it is watery, you can add little wheat flour and adjust the consistency.
Add ghee in Panniyaram tawa and make Appam as shown. It should be cooked in medium flame on both sides.
You can also deep fry in oil or ghee one by one.
