Let us see how to cook a spicy village style fish kulambu. It is very good with rice. It will be nice for idly dosa also.
Fish – 5 pieces
Tamarind – lemon size
Small onions – 8, garlic cloves – 5, tomato – 2, green chilly – 2, jerra – 1 tsp, turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp, kulambu powder – 2 tsp, chilly powder – 1 tsp, Coriander powder – 2 tsp.
In 1 tsp of gingerly oil fry jeera, onion, garlic, green chilly, tomato. Add all Powders and grind to a smooth paste, by adding little water.
Small onions – 15
Garlic cloves – 5
Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp.
Gingerly oil, salt, mustard seeds, methi seeds, curry and Coriander leaves.
Wash the fish. Add 1/4 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp turmeric in fish. In 5 tsp of oil fry 1 tsp mustard seeds, 1/4 tsp methi seeds, add onions, garlic and fry, add ginger garlic paste.
Add grinded paste and add allow it to boil. Add tamarind pulp, salt, water, curry leaves. Allow it to boil for 5 minutes in high flame and 3 minutes in low flame.
Now add fish as shown and cook for 3 minutes. Add Coriander leaves and switch off. Add 2 tsp of gingerly oil over it.
Serve it after 30 minutes along with rice.
