Sundal is a healthy recipe used for Pooja, specifically for Navarathiri and also can be taken as a Poriyal or snacks..
This is a sweet version of green gram dhal. As we use jaggery it is a protein and iron rich recipe for your kids.
Ingredients
Green Gram – 1 cup
Jaggery – 3/4 to 1 cup
Coconut – 3 tbs graded, 1 tbs chopped.
Ghee – 1/2 tsp
Cardamom, dry ginger powders
Steps
Dry roast dhal for 3,4 minutes.
Wash well and soak for 2 hours.
Add little water, around 1 glass and cook for 2 whistles.
In ghee fry coconut for a minute and keep aside. Melt the powdered jaggery and boil it with 1/2 glass of water.
Filter it in a pan and boil it for 2 minutes. Add cooked dhal, cardamom, dry ginger powders and cook in medium flame for 2,3 minutes. When it becomes dry add fried coconut and mix well.
