Normally kolukatai is made by raw rice. Here we make by idly rice, jaggery.. It is very soft and tasty.
Ingredients
Idly rice – 1 cup
Jaggery – 3/4 cup to 1 cup.. As per your taste.
Water – 2 cup
Cardamom – 3
Gingerly oil – 1 tsp
Ghee – 1 tsp
Coconut – 2 tbs
Steps
Wash and soak rice for 1 hour. Stain the water and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Rice should be wet.. But without water. Add it in dry mixi jar, add cardamom and powder it.. Without adding water.
Melt jaggery in 1/4 cup of water.
Boil 2 cups of water, add the rice powder as shown and cook it in medium flame for 4,5 minutes.
Once it cooks and comes out a rolling ball, as shown.. Filter and add the jaggery syrup.
And cook again for 2 minutes. Roast the coconut in ghee and add it.
Keep aside for 5 minutes. Soak your hand in water and make kolulatai as shown.
Bake it in a idly pot for 7,8 minutes.
