Kadappa is famous side dish for idly dosa, served in Tanjore district. The will also suits for porri and Chappathi.
Boiled potatoes – 3
Moong dhal – 1/4 cup
Coconut – 4 tbs
Poppy seeds – 1 tsp
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Green chilly – 3
Grind all to a fine paste by adding little water.
Onion – 1
Green chilly – 5
Ginger, garlic paste – 1 tsp
Oil, salt, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, mustard seeds, curry and Coriander leaves
Dry roast and cook Moong dhal along with little turmeric powder. Mash and keep aside.
In 4tsp of oil fry, mustard seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, add chopped onion, green chilly and fry for 2 minutes.
Add ginger, garlic paste, cooked potatoes, cooked dhal one by one.
Add some water and allow it to boil.
Add grinded coconut paste, curry leaves, salt and add 1glass of water. Let it boil for 3,4 minutes.
Add Coriander leaves.
