Siru keerai Dhal gravy, is suitable for rice, Roti, idly, dosa
Ingredients
Siru keerai – 1 bunch ( cleaned and chopped, around 3 cups)
Moong dhal – 1/4 cup
Small onions – 10
To grind
Ulund dhal – 1 tbs
Pepper – 1 tsp
Jeera-1tsp
Red chilly – 3
Coconut – 3 tbs
Fry all in 1/4 tsp of ghee and grind them to a smooth paste
Oil – 2tsp
Mustard seeds, jeera, onion vadakam, asfotita, salt
Steps
Dry roast Moong dhal, soak for 15 minutes. Cook in a glass of water for 5 minutes.
Add keerai, onion and water to dhal, close and cook for, 5 minutes.
Add grinded paste, salt and water and cook for 2,3 minutes.
In oil fry mustard seeds, jeera, asafotida, onion vadakam ( optional) and add to the gravy.
