We usually make Sambar using radish.. But making a chutney using this is very tasty and it is a fine side dish for idly, dosa, wheat ragi dosa, chappathi.
Radish – 200 Gm
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Garlic – 4 cloves
Green chilly – 2
Red chilly – 2
Coconut – 4 tbs
Tamarind – 1 “inch
Gingerly oil – 4 tsp
Salt, hing, mustard seeds, ulund dhal, jeera, curry and Coriander leaves.
Peel the skin and cut radish into thin slices. In 2 tsp of oil fry a tsp of ulund dhal, 1 tsp of jeera, add chillies, garlic, onion and fry for a minute.
Add radish, salt, mix well, close and cook for 3 minutes. Add tomato and cook for 2 minutes.
Add coconut, tamarind, hing, curry, Coriander leaves and mix. Switch off. Grind it to a smooth chutney, by adding little water.
In 2 tsp of oil fry mustard seeds, ulund dhal, curry leaves and add it to the chutney.
Now yummy Radish Chutney is ready.
