Sambar is the main south Indian recipe. Drumstick leaves Sambar is very tasty, healthy and aromatic. Along with small onions, garlic, drumstick, drumstick leaves is a special sambar recipe.
Thour dhal – 3/4 cup ( 150 Gm)
( Cook along with turmeric powder and mash it.. Refer Gowri Samayalarai For Dhal cooking method..
Drumstick leaves – 2 cups
Drumstick – 1
Small onions – 10
Garlic cloves – 6
Tomato – 1
Tamarind – 2 “inch
Sambar powder – 3 tsp

Oil, salt, mustard seeds, onion vadakam, hing.
In 1 tsp of oil fry onions, and garlic for a minute. Add tomato, tamarind, drumstick leaves, drumstick and mix well. Add Sambar powder, salt and 1 glass of dhal cooked water.
Close and cook for 1 whistle. After 3 minutes take out the steam and open. Add mashed dhal and add water according to the consistency. Cook it for 2 minutes.
In 2 tsp of oil fry mustard seeds, onion vadakam, hing and add it to the Sambar.
Now the aromatic, healthy Drumstick leaves Sambar is ready. This can be served along with rice, Idly, dosa.
