Pasalai Keerai is a another variety of palak keerai. Cooking along with dhal, onions, tomato gives a yummy taste to this dish. You can enjoy this with plain rice, Chappathi, wheat dosa. You do this recipe with palak also
Pasalai or palak keerai – 1 bunch
Thour or moong dhal – 1/4 cup
(cook the dhal along with water and turmeric powder for 2,3 whistles ..)
Small onions – 15
Garlic cloves – 5
Red chilly – 4
Tomato – 1 small
Oil, jeera, asfotida, onion vadakam (optional ), salt
In 1/2 tsp of oil fry jeera, add red chilly, onions, garlic, and mix well, add tomato, keerai and cook for a minute. Add 1/2 cup water, close and cook for 1 whistle.
Take out the steam, add cooked dhal, and allow it to one boil. Add salt and blend it course.
In 1 tsp of oil fry jeera, asfotida, onion vadakam and add it to the gravy.
