Siru Keerai is available in all seasons, it can be cooked as a Poriyal, masiyal, kootu. Here we can see a each Poriyal.
Siru keerai – 2 bunch
Onion – 1
Red chilly – 2
Coconut – 1 tbs
Oil, salt, mustard seeds, ulund, gram dhal.
Wash and cut keerai leaves along tender stems. In a tsp of oil fry mustard seeds, ulund, gram dhals, add chopped onion, red chilly and fry for 2 minutes.
Add keerai and fry for a minute. Add 1/2 glass of water and cook open in medium flame for 4 minutes.
Add salt and cook in high flame for a minute, until it becomes dry. Add coconut, mix well and switch off.
