Thandu Keerai Pasi Parrupu Poriyal can be taken as a side dish for rasam, curd rice. This Poriyal can be mixed with plain rice, that will be suitable for lunch box.
Thandu Keerai – 1 bunch ( washed and cut along with tender stems)
Moong dhal – 4 tbs
Onion – 1
Red chilly – 2
Coconut – 2 tbs
Oil, mustard seeds, jeera, salt.
Cooked rice – 1 cup
Wash and soak moong dhal for 15 minutes. In a tsp of oil fry 1/2 tsp mustard seeds, 1/2 tsp jeera, add chopped onion and red chilly and fry for 2 minutes.
Add dhal, without water and fry it for a few minutes. Add chopped keerai and mix well, add 1/2 cup of water and cook in low flame in open lid for 4 minutes.
Add salt and cook for 2 minutes. Once it becomes dry add coconut, mix and switch off. Take out Poriyal. Leave 2 or 3 tbs Poriyal in pan. Add cooked rice little ghee and mix gently, while the pan is hot.
Now Poriyal and keerai rice is ready for lunch box. Along this you can also give some rasam or curd rice.
