Potato packs are famous in Madurai. In sweet stalls they are selling this, people are eating this as a snack and also they buy this for eating as a Poriyal for their lunch box rice. I enjoyed this when I go there, and asked recipe from them and tried at home. It is very easy and tasty. A perfect choice for lunch box along with any rice.
Ingredients
Potato – 4
Small onions – 20
Garlic cloves – 6
Green chilly – 2
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Red chilly powder – 2 and 1/2 tsp
Hing – 1/4 tsp
Gram flour – 2 and 1/2 tbs
Fennel seeds – 1 tsp
Oil, curry, Coriander, mint leaves, salt.
Steps
Cook and peel potatoes. Chop onions, garlic, green chilly very finely. Chop curry, Coriander, mint leaves.
In 5 tsp of oil fry fennel seeds, and onion, garlic, green chilly for 3,4 minutes. Add curry, Coriander, mint leaves, all Powders,hing, 1 cup water, salt and let it boil.
Add mashed potatoes, gram flour and mix well. Cook in medium flame for 3,4 minutes. Add some more oil. It is ready now.
